Q. What is the
monthly cost associated with your Internet Service?
A. For residential use (no home business), the cost is
$29.99 monthly or $329.89 / Year. For
business, the cost is $39.99 monthly or $439.89 / Year. With both residential and business we offer 1
month free service for paying a year in advance.
Q. Are there any one
time charges for setup or installation?
A. Yes, we charge $150 for initial installation; this
includes 1 network card for single computer hookup, as well as the antenna that
is mounted at your location. Additional
charges may apply for connecting multiple computers. A router is required for multi-computer
dwellings. Basic Install includes 2
hours labor, any additional time spent on initial install will be billed at the
rate of $45.00 / hour.
Q. Is there a service
contract required?
A. Yes, we require that both residential and business
customers continue service for 12 consecutive months. This is needed to help Last Mile Wireless
recover the costs involved with installation and equipment.
Q. What speed
do you guarantee?
A. As
a broadband Internet Service provider we guarantee that your Internet service
will always be a broadband experience.
We use our service as well; therefore we do not want to make service
slow or un-reliable. Our service offers
speeds up to 7 Meg and we monitor our network to ensure that users get what
they are paying for.
Q. How often does
your Internet Service go down?
A. We pride ourselves in actively monitoring our network
full-time, therefore we are alerted of outages or potential outages on all
areas of our network. By this we are
able to quickly and effectively resolve problems in a timely fashion. However, we can say that our system has not
had significant outage (more than 4 hours) in over 6 months, from any of our
broadcast locations.
Q. What does the
antenna look like?
A. We use some of the smallest antennas available in the
industry. They are approximately 13” x
10” and 2” thick. They are white.
Q. Where does the
antenna have to be mounted?
A. The antenna needs to be mounted so that it has clear
line-of-site to our broadcast locations.
These broadcast locations are located on hill-tops around the valley,
and we have many to choose from. NOTE:
Without line of site, our system will not work, and therefore we cannot
install.
Q. Does weather
affect my service or ability to get on the Internet?
A. No, we have not found weather of any sort to interfere
with our Internet service, this includes, rain, wind, dense fog, snow or any
other weather related occurrence.
However there are environmental variables that can affect the
service. Because Radio Frequencies are
used to carry the signal, Sun Spots (solar flares) can affect service. These
occurrences are rare and should not be a regular concern.
